Viewing multiple .pdf pages on large monitor setup

Date:Mon, 5 Jan 2009 16:13:17 +0100

I have a dual 30" widescreen monitor setup on a Mac Pro with Windows
XP under Parallels. So the answer to my question could be either PC
software or Mac software.

When I view .doc documents in Office 2007 on my PC, I can place
Parallels into Coherence mode and see 6 full-size pages of a document
simultaneously across the two monitors - this is a really nice setup
for working with large documents.

But I have not been able to find .pdf viewer software which will
similarly take advantage of the widescreens. As far as I can tell,
Adobe Reader and Foxit Reader can only depict a document two pages
wide so I can only take advantage of the two screens in height but not
in width.

Is there a .PDF viewer someone is aware of which will let me view more
than two pages at a time horizontally?

(I have the same question as well for .TIF files.)

Thanks

Presently I have six PDF files open, two rows of three using PDF-Viewer.
There is a free version and there is a modest costing Pro version. I have
the Pro version.
http://www.docu-track.com/

You might want to review their products for they are excellent.

BUT, give this a try with your present reader:

To make things a bit easier, create a desktop icon for your reader.

Now click on the icon, select a PDF file and open it.

Click off of the open PDF file to disassociate the reader from the open
file.

Click on the PDF reader icon to open the reader, select a second PDF file;
you now should have two PDF files open.

Doing the same sequence, you should be able to open as many PDF files as
wanted.

If your reader is unable to do this, it may be worth giving the free
PDF-Viewer a try.

Note: Tracker PDF-XChange, the PDF creating app is outstanding; also worth a
try.

Good luck.

Thanks... but what I want to do is not to open many .PDF files at
once.

Rather, I would like to open one .PDF file which has many pages and at
one time display 6 pages from left to right.

All the .PDF readers I have tried can only display 2 pages from left
to right; additional scrolling is vertical but not horizontal.

Sorry for the misdirection; working with old brain here.

PDF-Viewer will display Continuous Facing pages stacked vertically but
didn't find a way to do what you are hoping for.

Adobe Acrobat will let you open multiple PDF files and view them in
multiple windows, with various Tile Horizontally and Tile Vertically
options for how the windows are arranged.

Can't say if this let you view multiple pages in a single document, but
if you're willing to make multiple copies of your document . . .
